Frame rate
Also: fps
Frame rate is the number of images per second in the displayed content, for example 24, 30 or 60 fps. That is separate from the refresh rate of the hardware: a film of 24 fps on a screen of 3840 Hz is refreshed 160 times per film frame. The refresh must be far higher than the frame rate to be flicker-free, including flicker-free on camera.
