How many lines and characters does the Alpha 9640i show?
2 to 5 lines: for example 20 characters on 2 lines, 17 on 3 lines or 26 on 5 lines, with a character height of 94 / 62 / 44 mm on a 100 cm display.
What is the difference with the 4000 series?
The 9000i series has a finer pitch (6,25 mm), more pixel rows and shows up to 5 lines at 1800 nits. The 4000 series (Alpha 4120 RGB) shows 1 or 2 lines on 7,62 mm — more affordable when fewer lines are enough.
Can I connect the Alpha 9640i to my existing system?
Yes. The recommended connection is Ethernet through the Alpha protocol, or management via the Ooh!Media software. RS-232 and RS-485 remain available for backwards compatibility through AlphaNet.
Is the Alpha 9640i suitable for outdoor use?
No, this is an indoor display (1800 nits). For outdoor use we recommend a display with higher brightness and an outdoor enclosure — feel free to contact us.
