Wavelengthλ
Wavelength (λ) is the distance between two successive crests of a light wave, expressed in nanometres (nm) for visible light. It determines the perceived colour: long wavelengths are red (~625 nm), short ones are blue/violet (~450 nm). Wavelength and frequency are inversely proportional via c = λ·ν.
